Shipping Update

If you are an international customer (ordering from outside of Canada), you may need to pay additional duties and import taxes when your shipment is received. Packages may also be held at customs until fees are paid, so please keep an eye on your tracking to avoid delays.  

The Clay Mat™ is a flexible, non-stick, waterproof mat made specifically for working with clay. Your clay will not stick to its canvas-like surface, and moisture or dust from the clay won’t transfer to your work table thanks to the unique waterproof backing.

It also offers a printed measuring grid that includes circles and angles to help ceramic hand builders make precise, controlled cuts easily — and roll smooth slabs. 

The mat is washable, wrinkle-proof, and shrink-proof.

The Clay Mat™ is an absolute must-have for the amateur or professional ceramic artist. I developed this product after 30 years of working with clay, and I am so excited to share it with my fellow potters. 

SPECIFICATIONS

• Non-stick, wrinkle-proof canvas-like surface stays flat so your clay stays smooth throughout rolling and hand building.
• Waterproof backing protects your tables.
• 36 inches long x 27 inches wide.
• Printed with a 1-inch grid, 1/8-inch markings, 25°, 45°, and 65° angle lines, and five sizes of circle markings. All numbers are printed outside of the grid area, so they are always visible.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. After using, remove loose clay from the mat. 
2. Wipe off stuck-on clay with a sponge soaked in clean water.
3. Use the sponge to mop up the dirty water and wring it out into a bowl. 
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 as needed. 
5. Let dry. 
6. Wash especially thoroughly if you intend to use the mat with both red and white clay — or buy two mats, one for each colour. 
7. For easy storage, once The Clay Mat™ is dry, store it in the tube it was shipped in.

WARNINGS

• DO NOT tumble dry.
• DO NOT wash in the sink or the washing machine as clay can clog drains.
• DO NOT use with utility knives or sharp knives as they could damage the mat.
• Note that the measurements depicted on the mat may be off by up to ~1/8 of an inch.
